I want to thank everyone who helped with Operation Christmas Child this past year. Your donations, shoe box gifts, prayers, cookies and time all are for the Glory of God! In being a part of this program, you are a missionary bringing the great commission into fruition. We need to be in prayer as our shoe boxes are on their final destination to reach the children. Please pray as they pass thru customs, that they will reach their destinations intact, pray for the workers on the other end of the world that will be receiving the boxes, and pray for the leaders who will be distributing the boxes to the children, that they will clearly present the gospel message to the children, But especially pray for the children as they receive their boxes, that they will know the love of Jesus and that they will follow thru with The Greatest Journey program. The Upper Peninsula sent a total of 9,026 shoe boxes this past year!! Your boxes are on their way to either Ghana or Tanzania! The number of shoe boxes that we sent in Iron County was down this year from last year. That okay as we know the Lord will bless what we have given, but I want to try something new this year to try to get the number of shoe boxes up locally. The more boxes, the more children we can reach for the gospel! Now that the Christmas and New Year rush is over, we can start focusing on the year to come. So here is my thoughts: If we purchase items monthly for the shoe box program, then in October or November we can have a packing party. If we have a lot of items, we can begin packing throughout the year. We can also involve those in the community by inviting them to help us pack, and get those involved such as the mission. We can ask for donations for shipping thru the community such as lions clubs, etc. We can get the school children involved. These are all idea's that Operation Christmas Child promotes and is used in other communities. We could also involve the community and ask them to donate items monthly for the program.....So give me your thoughts, ideas, and input as we go forward in reaching people for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
